I Want To See the Word NO 100 Times

As I prepare myself to dive into the world of publishing poetry, there’s a key piece of advice that has come up many times – don’t be discouraged by publishers who decline your work. Rejection is talked about with an air of permanence – it’s not an if question, but a when. So, how does an aspiring poet cope with the influx of the word NO in their inbox?

You make a game out of it.

I’ve seen this done before when artists are striving to get their name out there. If you send your work out frequently and to as many platforms as you can, you’re bound to wind up with at least a couple of acceptances mixed in amongst the rejections.

I’m already well on my way – I’ll be sure to celebrate with you all once I hit 100.
