I don’t know about you, but I’ve come to realize that the idea of change being challenging is one hell of an understatement. Especially when it threatens to disrupt our daily lives in big ways.
For so many of us, we would rather keep doing what we know, even if those old habits are no longer serving us – or worse, they’re actively hurting us and holding us back. We think that change will be too much. Too challenging, too intimidating, too difficult to go through with. But in the end, accepting the change is the only way we move forward. It’s the only way we can take back some control in our lives when it starts to feel like life is running itself, that we’ve lost our sense of agency in our own well-being.
I’m grappling with change in my life as I write this. It’s a big step for me to consider putting myself out there with a website like this one. I’m generally not the type of person to share my innermost thoughts with strangers on the internet, but I think it’s time to consider – what if I can become that person? What if, by starting my journey and telling my story, I can make an impact? After all, that’s what’s really driving my motivation. I want to let others know that they aren’t alone, that there is a community out there for everyone. If I can be a part of that community, well. That’s worth the discomfort and growing pains that always accompany change.
I hope you’ll join me as I take the first steps of my journey. I can’t wait to see where it takes us.
